Amazon Stores Learning & Development (ASLD) is looking for a Learning Experience Designer (LXD) to design and develop learning experiences that build critical capabilities across Amazon Stores. This role owns the end-to-end design of learning solutions — from understanding the business problem and learner need through design, development, launch, and evaluation.

You’ll partner with business leaders, subject matter experts, program and product managers, and other learning professionals to turn complex business challenges into practical learning experiences. The work spans self-guided and instructor-led learning, simulations, performance support, and AI-enabled learning solutions designed to help employees build and apply new skills.

The right candidate combines strong learning design and development skills with curiosity, sound judgment, and a willingness to experiment. You should be comfortable working through ambiguity, simplifying complex topics, building learning content directly, and using data and learner feedback to improve your work.

This role supports a global learning portfolio that evolves alongside the business. We’re looking for someone who can think beyond individual courses or training events and design experiences that are practical, scalable, and built around how employees actually learn and work.

Key job responsibilities

  • Learning Design & Development: Own learning solutions from needs analysis through design, development, launch, and evaluation. Design self-guided, instructor-led, blended, simulation-based, and other applied learning experiences.
  • Content Development: Create high-quality learning materials including digital modules, scripts, videos, assessments, facilitator and discussion guides, performance support, and other resources that help employees apply new skills on the job.
  • Learning Portfolio Management: Manage and continuously improve a portfolio of 300+ digital courses and resources serving a global audience, ensuring content remains accurate and aligned with evolving business, legal, retail, marketing, and tool requirements.
  • Learning Strategy: Develop learning approaches for organization-wide capability priorities, including AI fluency, emerging tools, and business and technical skills. Partner with business leaders and SMEs to identify performance gaps and determine the right learning approach.
  • Learner Experience & Innovation: Use learner research, prototyping, A/B testing, AI, and emerging technologies to test and improve how employees learn and practice new skills. Translate findings into scalable design practices and standards.
  • Measurement & Evaluation: Use learner feedback, learning data, business metrics, and evaluation frameworks to assess effectiveness and inform improvements.
  • Learning Technology: Manage course deployment and the learner experience within learning platforms. Partner with technical teams to investigate and resolve issues affecting access, completion, learner records, or platform functionality.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Work across SMEs, program and product managers, Legal, HR, and business leaders to translate complex business needs into practical learning solutions and keep learning aligned with changing priorities.
  • Onboarding & Change Support: Design role-specific learning and performance support for onboarding, organizational changes, new tools, and evolving ways of working.

A day in the life

You will start your morning reviewing customer feedback and usage data to spot trends and inform your priorities for the day. From there, you might join a design review to evaluate prototypes, then shift into a working session with engineers to refine requirements for an upcoming launch. Expect to write and review product documents, participate in planning discussions, and connect directly with customers through research sessions to validate that what you are building meets their actual needs. Basic Qualifications: - 3+ years of product management experience

  • Experience managing technical products or online services
  • Experience in product, program, or project management in leading cross-functional teams in delivery of major new products or services
  • Bachelor's degree Preferred Qualifications: - Experience building and analyzing cost/benefit scenarios and business cases and communicating results throughout the organization
