Overview
We are looking for a Principal Product Manager to set the technical and product direction for the Copilot Offline Evaluation Platform. The platform is a critical component of Microsoft's broader Copilot Evaluation ecosystem. It rigorously assesses the quality and reliability of Copilot experiences before they reach production. Teams use it to run controlled evaluations with synthetic or curated datasets across non-production tenants, simulating real-world scenarios to validate feature performance, detect regressions and establish quality baselines.
As a Principal Product Manager, you will own the end-to-end technical and product strategy of the offline evaluation platform. This covers how evaluation datasets are generated and curated, how realistic test environments are built, how evaluations run at scale, and how results become ship decisions for product experiences. While not a manager position, this is nevertheless a leadership role. You will lead through the clarity of your thinking, technical and product depth, and with hands-on work directly within the systems. You will also be a role model and mentor for the PMs and engineers on the team.

- Define project scopes, goals, and deliverables, and ensure they are effectively communicated to the team members and stakeholders.
- Drive the execution of multiple complex projects simultaneously, while ensuring adherence to quality standards and timelines.
- Work closely with engineering, data science, and product teams to define technical requirements and ensure alignment between platform capabilities and business needs.
- Serve as a point of contact for internal stakeholders, addressing their concerns, providing regular updates, and managing expectations.
- Demonstrate deep technical knowledge and understanding of the platform, algorithms, and infrastructure needed for the product.
