Financial Freedom Happens Here – and it starts with YOU.
At FAIRWINDS Credit Union, we’re more than a workplace; we’re a team on a mission. Join the credit union nationally endorsed by The Dave Ramsey Show, where every day is a step toward financial freedom - for our members and for you.
As our Digital Banking Product Manager, you’ll help determine what comes next. You will own the prioritized roadmap and backlog for our consumer and business digital banking experiences, turning member needs, business priorities, data, and new technology into meaningful improvements.
This role is ideal for someone who can see the big picture while still getting into the details. You will work across the organization to understand needs, write clear requirements, make thoughtful prioritization decisions, and partner directly with our digital banking platform vendor to help shape what we deliver and when.
You won’t be configuring the platform yourself. Instead, you will define what needs to be built, why it matters, what success looks like, and how we know it was delivered correctly.
Your Role in Our Mission
- Own and maintain a single prioritized backlog for both consumer and business digital banking, clearly communicating what is being prioritized, why, and what isn’t moving forward.
- Translate member and business needs into clear business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria that can be configured and tested without further interpretation.
- Chair the digital banking intake and prioritization process, helping distinguish between true platform defects, enhancements, and training opportunities.
- Maintain a two- to four-quarter digital banking roadmap aligned with our broader digital strategy and available delivery capacity.
- Partner directly with our digital banking platform vendor, reviewing product roadmaps and release notes, evaluating new functionality, submitting enhancement requests, and representing FAIRWINDS in vendor user groups and advisory forums.
- Evaluate completed work against documented acceptance criteria and approve release scope before implementation.
- Define success measures for material digital banking changes before they are built and partner with the Digital Banking Performance Analyst to understand whether those changes delivered the intended results.
- Conduct member and business-member journey mapping and gather voice-of-member insights through surveys, focus sessions, and feedback from member-facing crewmembers.
- Partner with Compliance, Information Security, and Legal to ensure requirements account for regulatory, disclosure, security, and accessibility expectations, including Regulation E and WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility criteria.
- Develop business cases for custom development, including potential use of vendor APIs or software development kits, and move approved requests through the enterprise application development process.
- Maintain product documentation, including requirements, decision logs, and release notes.
- Serve as a key requirements decision-maker during platform conversions and participate in design, testing, and readiness activities.
- Escalate significant risks, unresolved defects, or delivery concerns with a clear explanation of the impact and a recommended path forward.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- You have a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, information systems, or a related field.
- You bring 4–6 years of experience in digital product management, business analysis, digital channel management, or a similar role within financial services.
- You have experience owning and prioritizing a product backlog and successfully moving platform changes through requirements, testing, and release.
- You’ve worked directly with a technology vendor on product roadmaps, enhancements, releases, or platform capabilities.
- You understand consumer and business digital banking capabilities such as online and mobile banking, digital account opening, bill pay, person-to-person payments, remote deposit, funds transfers, wires, ACH origination, entitlements, and cash management.
- You know how to write requirements and acceptance criteria that are clear enough to hold up during testing.
- You’re comfortable using data such as adoption, funnel performance, usage, and support volume to help inform product decisions.
- You’re comfortable making prioritization decisions and explaining the reasoning behind them, even when that means saying “not now” to competing requests.
- You can communicate the same decision effectively to executives, technical teams, business partners, and member-facing crewmembers.
- You’re collaborative, organized, curious, and comfortable balancing member experience, business priorities, regulatory requirements, and technology constraints.
A Culture of Care and Reward:
You give your best, and we give back with a comprehensive and meaningful rewards package:
- Enjoy 11 paid holidays and generous paid time off to recharge and reset
- Build your future with a 6% 401(k) match
