Vonmod designs, engineers, builds and installs custom modern cabinetry for Colorado’s leading architects, designers and builders, all under one roof.
Our purpose: Make life easier for our clients and their project teams.
Our niche: Architect-led, designer-driven, custom modern cabinetry.
Our 10-Year Target: Become the trusted partner for every leading designer and builder in Denver and select Colorado communities by 2034.
If you want to draw it, build it and eventually lead it—this role is for you.
Position: Studio Engineer – Project Manager Track
Location: Denver, Colorado (studio-based)
Reports To: Head of Studio
Department: Studio
Schedule: Full-time
Role Overview
This is a career, not a seat. You start as a Studio Engineer and master drafting and engineering. As you prove that, you take on project management on your own projects. With a sustained record in both, typically 3+ years at Vonmod, the path leads to Project Architect, our most senior studio role.
Every PA at Vonmod walked this path. We’re hiring for the trajectory, and we’ll be honest about the time it takes.
You’ll Love It Here If You:
- Thrive in a team-first culture where collaboration runs across departments and project teams
- Show full engagement, with discipline until the job is done
- Sweat the details—being detail oriented is in your DNA
- Bring a continual growth mindset, learning through feedback and iteration
- Are fueled by a passion for the challenge, pushing your limits to deliver at the highest level
What You’ll Do:
Where You’ll Start: Drafting & Engineering
- Build precise 3D manufacturing models and annotated shop drawing sets in Cabinet Vision and Rhino
- Develop material, door and assembly schedules
- Sync models into Innergy (our ERP) and build accurate bills of materials
- Issue redline updates from PM and project team feedback, and resolve them before production
- Prepare work orders and instructions, ready to post to production and install
- Track and resolve remill requests
- Help develop and test new Cabinet Vision tools, and draft and direct prototype builds
Where You’re Headed: Project Management
- Lead projects through our Scope → VFX → Verification → Production → Install process
- Be the steady point of contact for owners, architects, contractors and vendors
- Manage scope, schedule and budget changes with clarity
- Lead internal kickoffs, pre-production meetings and pre-install walkthroughs
- Monitor budgets, margins and labor on your projects through closeout
How You’ll Start
- Cross-trained in production and install during onboarding, so you know how what you draw gets built
- Regular one-on-ones with the Head of Studio to check in, coach and grow
- Clear milestones for each step on the path, so you always know where you stand
You’ll Be a Great Fit If You:
- Have 2+ years making and drawing things people paid for: design-build, millwork, furniture, fabrication, CNC/CAM, or architecture with real hands-on work
- Stay calm when things go sideways—problems are most of the job, and you like solving them
- Model fluently in 3D (Rhino, CAD or similar). Cabinet Vision is a plus; we’ll teach it
- Communicate clearly and with empathy, with your team and with project teams
- Want a career here, and can see yourself leading projects in a few years
- Bonus: a degree in architecture, interior architecture, industrial design or engineering
What Success Looks Like:
- Drawing sets delivered on time
- Redlines resolved before production
- Accurate, complete handoffs to production and install
Work Environment:
- Based in our Denver studio during business hours
- Collaboration across Studio, Production and Install teams daily
- Occasional client meetings, vendor visits and jobsite visits
Growth Path We’re building a team for the long haul. This role grows into:
- Studio Engineer with project management on your own projects
- Project Manager
- Project Architect (typically 3+ years at Vonmod)
Tools You’ll Use:
- Cabinet Vision, Rhino 3D
- Innergy (ERP + CRM), Proposify
- PDF Studio Pro, Google Workspace
What It Means to Work at Vonmod:
We run on VOS, the Vonmod Operating System. That means:
- Clear expectations and role support from leadership
- Tools, training, and systems designed to help you excel
- Regular one-on-ones to track progress and celebrate wins
- Recognition and growth opportunities as part of your long-term journey
Benefits
- Health Insurance Group Plan with $190/month Vonmod Contribution
- Option for Dental Insurance on Group Plan
- 401k w/ company matching (eligible after 6 months)
- Cell Phone Plan (eligible after 6 months)
- Access to Vonmod Facilities for Personal Projects
- 7 paid Holidays (includes day after Thanksgiving)
- 15 days PTO
- 6 days Sick time
- Healthy (and some unhealthy) snacks
- Bi-Annual Vonmod gear releases (shirts, sweatshirts, hats, etc)
How to Apply
Send a résumé and a portfolio that shows how things are built: assemblies, details and shop drawings, not just renderings. Also considering our Project Architect role? Apply once; we’ll consider you for both.
