Substation experience is preferred, although candidates with strong transmission line project management experience will also be considered.
The Project Manager serves as NHPL’s primary representative to the utility client and works closely with field leadership and project teams to deliver safe, timely, and financially successful projects. This opportunity is suited for someone who understands field construction, takes ownership of project performance, develops teams, and independently manages a growing portfolio of work.

- Develop and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project, establish baselines, monitor critical path activities, and address schedule risks and variances.
- Own project budgets, job cost structures, cost forecasting, and financial reporting, connecting construction progress and schedule performance to projected financial results.
- Manage subcontractor coordination, negotiate subcontract terms, and develop change order documentation, pricing, and justification to support client review and approval.
- Coordinate with superintendents, field crews, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to resolve construction issues, align resources, and maintain accountability for project commitments.
- Anticipate project risks, implement corrective actions, and communicate performance to clients and leadership while supporting team development and the growth of NHPL’s substation business.

- Full ownership of scope, schedule, budget, and change management from kickoff through energization
Scheduling & Project Controls
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project (both required)
- Builds schedules from scratch, sets baselines, and produces variance and cost reports
- Reads critical path, flags risk early, and ties schedule data to financial performance
Financial & Commercial Command
- Owns project budgets, cost forecasting, and job cost structures
- Experience with change order justification, subcontract negotiation, and client-facing pricing
Leadership & Client Management
- Client-facing leader who can represent NHPL at kickoffs, job walks, and project reviews
- Self-starter who anticipates problems and drives resolution without waiting to be told
- Thrives in a fast-moving construction environment with competing priorities and tight timelines
