What you will do

Johnson Controls delivers security project work that requires disciplined planning, strong customer communication, and consistent execution from start to finish.

You will lead moderately complex security projects that are typically assigned medium to high corporate priority. In this role, you will serve as a subject matter expert in project management, security system setup, project scope definition, risk identification, security project methodology, prioritization, and facilitation. You will maintain control of schedule, cost, safety, quality, and customer expectations throughout the project lifecycle, from planning through closeout.

How you will do it

  • Lead moderately complex security projects with medium to high corporate priority and ensure delivery against scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
  • Manage project planning, risk identification, forecasting, change management, procurement, field execution, and closeout activities.
  • Provide clear project updates and progress reviews to management and customers throughout the security project cycle.
  • Coordinate communication and status reporting with project staff, customers, Johnson Controls management, and other internal business partners.
  • Develop and maintain work plans, assign responsibilities, define scope of authority, and provide technical advice and problem resolution across all aspects of the project.
  • Track project expenditures and installation progress, then adjust schedules or plans as needed to keep the project on track.
  • Maintain financial accountability across the project, including forecasting financial trends and understanding internal Johnson Controls and external client cost structures.
  • Apply AIA standards when translating and managing project financial information and accounting processes.
  • Maintain project quality through worksite inspections and by ensuring workmanship meets Johnson Controls installation standards for security systems.
  • May manage vendor relationships throughout the security installation and coordinate subcontractors and field resources as needed.
  • Support customer service by responding to concerns promptly and ensuring projects are closed on time and within scope.
  • Own the outcome with accountability, safety, and integrity by keeping project commitments visible and following through on schedule, cost, quality, and customer expectations.
  • Stay close to the work and remove obstacles for the customer by maintaining active communication with field teams, contractors, engineering, and internal partners.
  • Use PMI-based project management discipline across integration, scope, time, cost, quality, human resources, communications, risk, and procurement.
  • Keep decisions practical and data-driven by monitoring progress, financial trends, installation status, and changing site conditions, then adjusting plans quickly when needed.
  • Improve every day through candor and problem-solving by identifying risks early, resolving issues quickly, and learning from project execution to strengthen future delivery.
  • Win as one team by coordinating effectively across customers, subcontractors, field leadership, engineering, and business partners with trust and collaboration.

  • Completes advanced training in construction contract administration, project financial management, critical-path scheduling, project risk management, change management, subcontractor management, and executive-level customer communication.
  • Demonstrates proficiency with Primavera P6 or an approved equivalent scheduling platform and completes continuing professional development applicable to large security construction programs.
  • Provides documented leadership through mentoring, formal knowledge sharing, or delivery of project management training.
