We're looking for an experienced Project Manager who will be the hub of the internal agency team, working on some of our largest, most integrated, clients in a remote (or hybrid) work environment, with a primary focus on government accounts. This individual will serve as a key operational leader, bringing structure to complexity and ensuring cross-functional teams have the clarity, resources, and direction needed to deliver exceptional work.
This role goes beyond managing timelines and workflows. We're looking for someone who can confidently navigate ambiguity, anticipate challenges, influence decisions, and drive accountability across teams. The Project Manager will also play a critical role in strengthening agency processes, improving operational efficiency, and helping teams work smarter together.
What You Will Do
Project Leadership
- Independently lead complex, integrated projects from kickoff through completion, ensuring delivery on time, within scope and budget, and to established quality standards.
- Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, aligning cross-functional teams on milestones, dependencies, resources, and responsibilities.
- Proactively identify risks, navigate shifting priorities, and drive solutions to keep projects on track and minimize surprises.
- Serve as a trusted partner to Account Management and discipline teams, navigating competing priorities, resolving challenges, and fostering strong collaboration.
- Communicate project status, risks, and key decisions clearly and proactively to internal teams and agency leadership.
Operational Excellence
- Partner with Discipline Leads and Resource Management to forecast resource needs, identify capacity constraints, and optimize team allocations.
- Own project financial health, managing budgets, estimates, and actual hours while proactively addressing variances, scope changes, and profitability risks.
- Champion the Agency’s Project Management Model, ensuring consistent adoption of effective planning, collaboration, and delivery practices.
- Leverage project management tools and systems to maintain accurate project data, visibility into workloads, and accountability across teams.
- Identify and implement process improvements that streamline workflows, strengthen operational efficiency, and advance the Project Management discipline.
- Support new business efforts through project scoping, estimating, timeline development, and resource forecasting, as needed.
Experience You Need
- 5-7 years of experience in project management, marketing operations, or integrated agency workflow management, with significant experience independently leading complex, cross-functional projects. Agency experience strongly preferred.
- Experience working with government clients or accounts, including federal or state government agencies.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies, including Agile, Predictive, and Hybrid approaches, and the ability to apply the right approach based on project needs.
- Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to influence stakeholders and drive decisions.
- Bachelor's degree in advertising, communications, marketing, business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with SharePoint, Teams, ClickUp, or Workamajig is preferred.
- PMP certification or other recognized project management credentials are a plus.
Government Account & Public Trust Requirements
This position will support government client work and requires eligibility to obtain and maintain a favorable federal Public Trust determination.
Candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must have resided in the United States for the past three years.
- Must be willing and able to complete the required federal background investigation and screening process.
- Must reside in the Washington, DC, Maryland, or Virginia (DMV) area and be available to work onsite at Yes& or client offices as required.
Employment in this role may be contingent upon successfully obtaining and maintaining the required Public Trust determination.
Values You Should Share with Us
- Lead with curiosity and possibility. Approach challenges with positivity, creativity, and a solutions-oriented mindset.
- Own the outcome. Take accountability for project success, not just the completion of tasks. See the big picture and take initiative to move work forward.
- Be proactive, not reactive. Think ahead, anticipate what teams need, and address challenges before they become problems.
- Build trust and bring people together. Establish strong relationships, communicate transparently, and create clarity across diverse teams and perspectives.
- Embrace change and continuous improvement. Bring fresh thinking, challenge inefficient processes, and help make the way we work better.
- Deliver with purpose. Demonstrate an unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional work for our clients, our agency, and our teammates.
