On Target Earnings $70,000 – $80,000 with Uncapped Commissions
This role is based in our Santa Monica office. A hybrid schedule is available to BDRs who stay on pace to their monthly target. Hours are 7 AM–4 PM PT, Monday–Friday, so you're live when our East Coast and Central partners open their shops.
Who we are looking for
Promenade, formerly known only as BloomNation, is growing fast and hiring Business Development Representatives who have already chosen this career. If you've carried a quota, worked a lead queue, and come out the other side certain that sales is what you want to do — this is the seat.
You are the first impression. When a florist raises their hand on our website, you're the first human from BloomNation they talk to. In under five minutes, they decide whether we're a serious partner or one more vendor chasing them. That conversation sets the tone for everything that follows, so we need someone sharp, charismatic, and genuinely good with people — someone a busy shop owner is glad they picked up for.
This is an inbound-first role. Your primary job is to respond to marketing leads fast, qualify them honestly, and convert the qualified ones into sales consultations that actually get held. Booked doesn't count. Held does. A consultation that no-shows is a first impression that went nowhere.
When inbound slows down, you pick up the phone. Marketing lead volume moves with the season. When the queue is quiet, you're running outbound to florists who haven't found us yet. This isn't optional and it isn't busywork — it's part of the job from day one. Our top BDRs don't wait for inbound to pick up; they work both every month, and their commission checks show it.
The skill that decides who wins here. Inbound leads are warm, not closed. The reps at the top of this team figure out in the first two minutes whether this is a real fit, ask the question that surfaces what a broken process is costing the shop, and get the owner to say it out loud. Then they lock in a consultation the owner actually shows up to. Speed gets you the conversation; that skill gets you paid.
The honest version of this job. Inbound feels easy until you realize every lead is someone else's lead too, and the shop owner who filled out a form at 9 AM is on the phone with a competitor by 9:20. Some weeks the queue is full; some weeks you're dialing cold for most of the day. Every strong rep on this team has hit a plateau where the activity was there and the results hadn't caught up. We're looking for someone who keeps the energy up when the scoreboard isn't cooperating yet.
How we invest in you. Weekly one-on-ones with your Sales Manager, recorded call reviews, and a methodology you'll get sharp at rather than a script you'll read. You earn on the inbound leads you convert, and you earn more on the outbound consultations you create yourself. We offer tiered bonuses for ramp and for every level promotion. Strong performers move up, and the best move to Account Executive. We promote from within when it's earned, against criteria you'll see on day one. We won't sell you a timeline, but the goals to get there will be clear.
Who thrives here. Sharp, charismatic, outgoing — the person who makes a stranger feel like they called the right place. Upbeat, high-energy, hard to knock off balance. You have an undying will to win, and you're competitive with yourself before anyone else. You treat a quiet inbound day as a chance to outbound, not a day off. And you're the teammate whose energy lifts the floor on a slow Tuesday, because we're building a sales culture here, not just filling headcount.
Specifically, you will…
- Respond to every inbound marketing lead within 5 minutes during business hours, and clear the overnight queue first thing every morning
- Qualify fast and honestly: confirm fit, decision-maker, and need, and get the owner to name the problem worth solving
- Convert qualified leads into sales consultations with our Account Executives, booked within 24–48 hours while interest is high
- Own the consultation through to attendance: confirm it, remind them, and re-book no-shows the same day
- Make a great first impression on every call — you are the face and voice of BloomNation to prospective florist partners
- Run outbound to independent florists when inbound volume is slow, with cold calls first and email and social as support
- Work objections in real time and keep conversations alive that most reps let die
- Learn our platform, the floral industry, and our competitors well enough to hold a credible conversation with someone who has run their shop for twenty years
- Hand off clean, well-documented opportunities to Account Executives in Salesforce, and stay involved in what happens to the consultations you set
- Hit your monthly number consistently, then find out where your ceiling actually is
- Bring your own calls to weekly one-on-ones with your Sales Manager and work the recordings honestly
- Give marketing direct feedback on lead quality and messaging — you hear what prospects say before anyone else does
What’s in it for you...
- Great Medical/Dental/Vision coverage
- Transportation coverage in the form of parking, rideshare, or metro credit
- Fully stocked snack bar & weekly catered lunches
- Company provided gear & swag (MacBook Pro, t-shirt, sunglasses, etc.)
- Ability to mold your career and make an immediate impact
- Work in a fast-paced, fun environment with an eclectic group of people from all over the world
You will excel if you have...
- 1+ year in a quota-carrying sales, SDR/BDR, or high-volume customer-facing role (inbound lead response or SMB outbound preferred)
- A natural, confident phone presence and the ability to build rapport in the first 30 seconds
- Quick thinking: you can qualify and handle objections on the fly without a script
- Urgency: you treat a new lead like it expires, because it does
- Organization and discipline in a CRM (Salesforce experience is a plus)
- Coachability: you want feedback on your calls and act on it
- A high need for competition and achievement
- Multilingual / bilingual is a plus!
$70,000 - $80,000 a year
