Job Description
This is a remote position with up to 50% domestic travel required. Candidates may reside anywhere in the United States, but would prefer if they live within the geography.
The geography covers: Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Texas.
The Federal Account Executive (FAE) manages product and portfolio access within targeted federal accounts (VA, DoW, Indian Health, and the Federal Bureau of Prisons) and leads alignment and best practices across multiple geographies. Accountable for market access for the entire US Commercial product portfolio within the Federal Channel, the FAE secures product placement on customer formularies and improves utilization management criteria by engaging regional healthcare decision makers and local and national formulary committees. Builds and sustains executive-level relationships with key healthcare decision-makers, interprets business trends, and positions US Commercial as a strategic, high-quality, and cost-effective pharmaceutical partner for the federal channel.
Responsibilities
- Influence access across AbbVie’s portfolio through coordinated, persuasive messaging to key federal healthcare decision-makers.
- Drive realization of national PBM contracts across AbbVie’s portfolio to secure profitable access.
- Identifies and shares best practices beyond assigned accounts and geographies with franchise partners and external stakeholders, translates insights into actionable strategies that drive change and deliver measurable results.
- Serve as the Federal Channel subject-matter expert for internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating deep product and disease-state knowledge and advising field and headquarters teams on how to deliver positive outcomes within the Federal Channel.
- Apply financial and business expertise to develop programs and contracts, create case studies for Account Executive peers, and partner across channels and national account teams to identify opportunities, close gaps, and implement action plans with regional and national impact.
- Set strategy in collaboration with Federal Team colleagues and create account plans that are executable and replicable by other Account Executives.
- Leverage experience from other regions and industries to identify and develop geographic opportunities through collaboration.
- Act as a consultant in emerging or changing markets and with new stakeholders: rapidly assess opportunities, define short- and long-term implications, and set plans that achieve business goals while driving cross-geographic accountability and alignment.
- Leads identification and design or adaptation of strategic initiatives through quantitative and qualitative analysis; recommends solutions that advance the broader organization. Drives implementation and communication across the Market Access team to align efforts and define innovative account-management approaches.
- Leverages subject-matter expertise: on-boards new members, mentors peers, and elevates team capabilities. Chairs committees and task forces and represents AbbVie at local, regional, and national forums. Serves as a consultant and coach, sharing key learnings and identifying opportunities.
- Provides strategic leadership to field sales (RDs and DMs) and marketing teams for channel and account execution.
- Optimizes sales performance through disciplined resource allocation and process improvements.
- Designs pilot programs, presents outcomes to counterparts, and consults to replicate successful programs across geographies.
- Builds and sustains customer relationships as active partnerships; is viewed as a competitive advantage and a primary source of programs and solutions that drive the customer's business
