Account Executive, Flexport Capital
Flexport helps more than 10,000 clients and suppliers lead all aspects of their supply chain operations. Each of these customers faces significant working capital burdens that hamper their ability to grow their businesses. Since inception, Flexport Capital has provided over $2 billion in loans to Flexport customers to address these needs. Our non-dilutive capital products empower businesses to grow and bridge their working capital needs while maintaining ownership and control. As a start-up within a start-up, we’re developing unique fintech products that leverage the resources and data of Flexport’s platform for global trade. We are seeking an entrepreneurial and financially savvy individual to join our tight-knit team.
The Opportunity: Flexport Capital is Flexport’s financing arm, offering inventory and logistics financing, asset-based lending, term loans, and working capital products to Flexport clients. As an Account Executive, you will own the full end-to-end sales cycle for Flexport Capital, from sourcing, prospecting, negotiation, underwriting coordination, and close. You will build and manage your own growing book of business. You will serve as the primary commercial voice for your customers, acting as a financial consultant and strategic advisor to founders, CFOs, and finance teams seeking working capital solutions. You will work directly with Credit, Product, and Legal as a peer partner, shaping product development and go-to-market strategy based on real market feedback. You’ll play a critical role in scaling Flexport Capital’s market presence and establishing it as the go-to financing partner for growth stage businesses. You’ll own building the sales playbook that drives this growth, with full autonomy over your territory and clear upside as you scale.
You Will
- Own the full end-to-end sales cycle for your territory, from sourcing and prospecting through deal structuring, underwriting coordination, closing, and early relationship management.
- Build and own a growing book of business with direct revenue accountability. You'll win new customers, expand relationships as they scale, and identify cross-sell opportunities within your territory.
- Serve as the commercial relationship owner for your clients. You'll negotiate terms, structure deals, and coordinate with Credit through underwriting to close.
- Use Flexport's supply chain data as a commercial advantage. By analyzing shipment patterns, volume spikes, transit times, and invoice data, you can identify when customers need capital and turn those signals into targeted actions to drive sustainable growth.
- Drive strategic initiatives related to growth strategy, sales motions, and capital markets partnerships that expand Flexport Capital's market position.
- Leverage Flexport's freight and omni capabilities to create working capital solutions that deepen customer relationships, increase wallet share, and win deals competitors can't.
You Should Have
- Experience - 6+ years of experience in sales/sales development for a financial services and/or a technology company. Previous startup experience is a plus.
- Financial & Credit Acumen - Fluency in working capital structures, financial statement analysis, and lending mechanics. You can read and interpret P&Ls, balance sheets, and cash flow statements to assess customer needs. You'll be expected to recommend appropriate lending structures and create tailored working capital solutions for each prospect based on their business model and financing needs.
- Full-cycle sales execution - You’ve owned deals from prospect through close. You understand pipeline management, deal structuring, and how to navigate complex sales cycles. You’ve hit and exceeded quota consistently.
- Communication & Presence - Excellent communication and executive presence. You can build trusted relationships with Founders, CEOs, CFOs, and Finance Directors. You navigate senior-level conversations with ease and represent your company credibly with C-suite buyers.
- Commercial drive and ownership - You’re motivated by building and growing a business. You think like an owner, take accountability for outcomes, and proactively solve problems to move deals forward.
- Strategic business sense - You see beyond individual deals. You understand market trends, competitive threats, and identify customer needs that create product/GTM opportunities.
- Data & Tools - Proficiency in Salesforce, Excel, Claude, and other data tools. Ability to design dashboards and reporting frameworks to track pipeline growth and buying signals.
