Account Manager

Day in The Life

• Serve as the main point of contact for an assigned book of shipper accounts.
• Quote and book freight, and build pricing that wins loads while protecting margin.
• Grow existing accounts by adding lanes, modes and volume.
• Work closely with Carrier Reps to cover loads and keep service on track.
• Proactively communicate shipment status, delays and exceptions to customers.
• Resolve service issues, claims and billing questions quickly and professionally.
• Hold regular business reviews with key accounts on volume, service and pricing.
• Keep accurate account notes and load details in our CRM and TMS.
• The above responsibilities and additional duties may vary as assigned.

Requirements

Education/Work Experience

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of account management, customer service or sales experience in freight brokerage, 3PL or transportation.
• Strong understanding of truckload and LTL freight, pricing and the load lifecycle.

Physical Expectations

• Sedentary work – sit or stand at a desk, use a computer and a phone for most of the day.
