About the Role

Join an early-stage insurtech company as its first product designer, shaping an AI-enabled claims operations platform. You will turn complex claims workflows into clear, data-informed experiences for daily users and leadership teams.

What You'll Do

  • Own customer-facing experiences, from claims workspaces used by adjusters to dashboards for team leads and executives.
  • Research how people use the product through behavioral data, heat maps, discovery calls, and direct observation, then use findings to guide improvements.
  • Partner with product leadership and engineering to translate customer problems into workflows and implementation-ready designs.
  • Design interactions that help users understand what AI agents did, why they did it, what information they used, and where they are uncertain.
  • Lead product design from discovery through delivery as the platform evolves into an enterprise-grade experience.
  • Establish design principles and a design system, use AI tools to prototype, and assess whether changes help users work more efficiently.

What We're Looking For

  • Five to eight years of product design experience, including early-stage startup experience as a founding designer or first design hire.
  • A portfolio demonstrating UX-led design for complex, technical software and operational workflows.
  • Experience combining user research and product analytics, such as behavioral data and heat maps, to improve workflows.
  • Hands-on experience prototyping with AI coding tools such as Claude or Lovable.
  • Experience designing AI or human-in-the-loop workflows is valued, as is background in insurance, claims, healthcare, or another compliance-heavy domain.
  • U.S. work authorization is required. Visa transfers are accepted, but new visa sponsorship is not available.
