POSITION OVERVIEW
The Product Manager, New Product Growth - Supply Chain leads discoveries for new product ideas in Exostar’s network of aerospace and defense buyers and suppliers and adjacent market segments. You will work with a Product Designer and an Engineer to identify problems worth solving, ideate and validate product solutions, validate technical feasibility and determine whether the idea is business viable. The work runs for short cycles and ends at a gate where the idea continues, changes direction, or stops. If it stops, you move to the next idea. This role suits a product manager who is energized by early-stage ambiguity and who has worked on B2B enterprise products and services, especially supply chain products.
Responsibilities: Your day if you join us:
- Discovery: Plan and run customer discovery for your idea, including interviews with buyers, suppliers, or both. Capture what you learn in a form the team and executives can act on.
- Customer Understanding: Turn interview findings into a clear description of customer workflows and problems leading to defining what a product must do, which obligations and workflows it must cover, and what would make a customer adopt or switch from their current approach.
- Pricing and Buying Model: Test willingness to pay and the buying model during discovery, including who signs, how the purchase is made, and which price points customers accept.
- Hypotheses and Experiments: Write testable hypotheses, design experiments and prototype tests with the Product Designer and Engineer, and decide quickly what to build, change, or drop.
- AI in Product Work: Use AI to speed up interview synthesis, market and competitor research, and prototyping. Define how the quality of any AI-enabled capability will be measured.
- Two-Sided Design: Define how the product works for both sides of the market, and how value for buyers depends on supplier participation and the reverse.
- Product-led Growth: Where it fits the idea, define and test product-led growth mechanics, such as activation, time to value, and growth loops, using product analytics and experiments to guide what to build.
- Pre-release Engagement and Pilots: Recruit and manage prospects and customers to collaboratively engage with Exostar during the 0 to 1 product lifecycle.
- Gate Preparation: Prepare the evidence package for the gate review, with a clear recommendation and the data behind it.
- Product Development Support: Work with Exostar's existing product teams so that validated ideas can be developed and scaled. Or, take the leadership role for a new product and lead it through the development, new product introduction, and ongoing product management.
Qualifications: You are a great fit for this role if you:
