Description

The Opportunity

The Senior Product Manager owns a KWI product area end to end. You will evolve what clients run today and define where the product goes next. You are accountable for what it delivers, not only for what ships: adoption across the client base, measurable gains for the retailers using it, and a delivery pace the team can hold.

This is a hands-on role on a small product team. You will work directly with the retail teams who use your product every day, with engineering and design, and with the client-facing teams who see the problems first, in an AI-led, spec-driven development model.

The Company

We are a small team with a big vision: to be the premier provider of cloud technology solutions for retailers. KWI offers a complete, unified commerce solution, specifically designed to help specialty retailers grow their business. Our portfolio of customers includes Pandora, Bluemercury, Tom Ford and many other globally recognizable brands.

We combine Point of Sale, Merchandising, Order Management, CRM, and Loyalty into one cloud-based platform. We are a values- and mission-driven organization, and we believe that if we develop and demonstrate leadership in our strategy, operations, and people, we will continue to drive product innovation and service excellence.

AI at KWI

We are serious about AI. Not as a buzzword, but as a real part of how we work. We expect every member of our team to actively use AI tools to work smarter, move faster, and do more with less. We are not looking for someone who has heard of AI. We are looking for someone who can walk us through how they use it day to day: in their current role, in how they organize their work, and in how they solve problems. Curiosity and a willingness to experiment are non-negotiable.

As a Senior Product Manager, you excel at the following core competencies

  • Retail Domain Depth – You understand how your domain works in practice, whether point of sale, merchandising and inventory, order management and fulfillment, or platform and integrations, and what breaks downstream, in stores and across channels, when the data or the process falls out of sync.
  • Outcome Ownership – You define success in numbers before work starts, and you stay accountable to those numbers long after the release notes go out.
  • AI-Augmented Discovery and Delivery – You use AI tools daily to research, synthesize, prototype, and run product operations, and you have a clear point of view on where they help and where they do not.
  • Spec-Driven Thinking – You write structured, unambiguous specifications that engineering and AI coding agents can build from without guessing at intent.
  • Strategic Sequencing – You see where the category is heading and turn that into a roadmap with tradeoffs you can defend to clients and to leadership.
  • Data Fluency – You get to the answer yourself. You dig into the data, read the usage, and separate signal from the loudest anecdote in the room.
  • Partnership and Influence – You build trust with clients, executives, and engineers, and you can hold a position without losing the room.
  • Autonomy – You operate independently on a small team where the roadmap, the process, and the answer are often yours to define.

The impact you'll make

Discovery and Definition

  • Spend real time with clients and users. Bring back the workflow as it is, not as the org chart describes it.
  • Use AI tools to compress discovery: synthesize client interviews and support history, analyze usage data, and build working prototypes that put a real interface in front of a client in days instead of a release cycle.
  • Own the product roadmap, including the case for what we build now, what waits, and what we retire.
  • Write the specifications that drive development. Define intent, constraints, data model, and acceptance criteria clearly enough that engineering and AI coding agents can execute without re-litigating scope.

Delivery

  • Work day to day with engineering and design, keeping specifications current as the build reveals what the plan missed.
  • Hold the bar on release quality. Track throughput, release predictability, and post-release defect and support volume in your domain, and act when the trend moves the wrong way.
  • Partner with Implementation, Support, and Customer Success so every release lands with documentation, enablement, and an adoption path already in place.

Outcomes and Adoption

  • Set measurable targets for every major release: feature adoption, share of the client base live on current capability, and time to value. Report against them on a regular cadence.
  • Tie the roadmap to results retailers can measure in their operations: revenue and margin, efficiency, accuracy, and time their teams get back.
  • Bring the numbers to leadership and to clients, including the ones that missed. When a target falls short, you say so plainly and come with the plan to close the gap.

What you will bring

  • 5+ years in product management, including at least 3 years on B2B SaaS products.
  • Direct experience in the retail or commerce industry, or in an adjacent domain such as ERP, supply chain, or warehouse management.
  • A track record you can describe in numbers: what you shipped, what it moved, and how you knew.
  • Hands-on use of AI tools in your product work, whether for discovery synthesis, prototyping, spec writing, competitive research, or product operations.
  • Experience writing structured specifications that engineering builds from directly, and comfort working in a spec-driven development model.
  • Working understanding of cloud architecture, APIs, and integrations, enough to hold a design discussion with engineers and make a call on tradeoffs.
  • Experience running a Kanban delivery flow in the Atlassian suite, using Jira Product Discovery to shape ideas, Jira to manage the work, and Confluence to document it.
  • Clear communication, written and verbal. You can write a specification an engineer builds from and carry the room in a client or executive conversation.

Bonus points

  • Time spent inside a retailer's merchandising, inventory, fulfillment, e-commerce, or IT organization.
  • Experience with ERP, order management, supply chain, or commerce platform implementations at multi-location specialty retailers.
  • Experience with AI coding and agent tools such as Claude Code or Cursor, and design tools such as Figma or Claude Design, as part of the product and delivery workflow.
  • Experience modernizing legacy products, including conversion, unification onto a shared platform, and client migration, and getting clients to adopt the new capability.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent work experience.

As a member of the KWI team you will receive

  • Full Medical, Dental and Vision
  • Annual bonus eligible
  • Free gym in the building
  • Generous PTO policy
  • Summer Fridays....all year round
  • Tuition Reimbursement
  • Discount from building café
  • 401(K) with a 50% company match (up to 6% of employee contribution)
  • Employee Referral Program
  • (1) Volunteer day each year

Our work space

We understand that our teams need flexibility, which is why we follow a hybrid schedule. Our in-office days are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, and employees are allowed to work remotely on Wednesdays and Friday.

We are also a collaborative group and believe that getting together in person allows our team to do their best work. Together we enjoy monthly events, bagels every Thursday, a state-of-the-art coffee machine, a full snack pantry and many more surprise and delight moments throughout the year.

Our commitment to you

At KWI, we know that cultivating diversity and fostering an inclusive work environment is critical to our impact and success. We create an environment where no individual is advantaged or disadvantaged because of their background. We offer equal opportunity employment regardless of race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability status, age, marital status, or protected veteran status.

With a commitment to maintaining a bias-free environment in which harassment is prohibited, we respect cultural diversity and comply with the laws of the places in which we operate. We expect our business partners, suppliers, clients, and all our team members to uphold these commitments.
