Description
Business Development Representative
Compensation: Base Salary between $70,000-$80,000 (paid bi-weekly), plus quarterly bonuses (up to $20,000 per year)
Location: Hybrid, Field-based, home base near Beachwood, OH
Employment Type: Full-Time, W-2 Employee, Exempt
Reports To: Senior Director of Marketing
About the role
ARC Psychiatry and Lotus Consulting, part of ARC Health, provide outpatient mental health care across Northeast Ohio and Southeast Michigan: medication management, therapy, TMS, psychological and neuropsychological testing, EMDR and telehealth.
As our Business Development Representative, you run our partner development program: a defined set of regular meetings, shared patient insights, co-marketing and in-office resources that turns referral sources into long-term partners, so people who need care get to it sooner.
Your goal is to grow the number of patients referred by your partner network each quarter. This is a relationship job for a people person who cares about access to care. You won't build pricing packages or chase contracts; you'll build partnerships that send patients to the right care.
What you offer partners
We refer prospective patients who need therapy or medication management to our preferred partners. We stock partner materials in the "Local Resources" kiosks in our waiting rooms, and we invite partners to co-present in our monthly webinar series, which we promote on TV, social media and email. There's no cost to partners.
What You'll Do (Position Responsibilities):
Partner development (the core of the role)
- Hold a monthly partner development meeting with each preferred partner and each ARC office team: share patient insights, review referrals both ways and plan co-marketing
- Bring patient insights to every meeting: patient volume and how many patients may be eligible for TMS, therapy or medication management (in aggregate, never individual patient information)
- Recruit and onboard preferred partners, and add them in Salesforce so the patients they send are credited to you
- Keep the "Local Resources" kiosks in each ARC office stocked monthly with partner and ARC materials
- Recruit partner clinicians to co-present in our monthly webinar series, and promote the series at every meeting
- Grow referral volume from your partner network quarter over quarter
Field outreach (how you find and grow partners)
- Visit providers across Beachwood, Westlake, Medina, Canton, Youngstown and Ann Arbor: about 10 clinic visits and 3 events a week
- Hold lunch-and-learns and community events
- Follow up with partners using approved email templates, and thank partners after a referral
- Work from your Salesforce lists and log every touch (the mobile app and email logging do most of the entry)
- Bring a quarterly growth plan and event calendar to a monthly call with operations and intake
- Protect patient privacy: no patient information in outreach
Business Development Representative Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation: Base Salary between $70,000-$80,000 + Bonus Opportunities up to $20,000!
- Mileage reimbursed at the IRS rate; cell-phone reimbursement
- 401(k) retirement plan with employer match up to 4%
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and eligible dependents
- HSA (with employer contribution) and FSA options to help manage healthcare and dependent care expenses
- Employer-paid life insurance and AD&D coverage
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP) with confidential mental health and life support resources
- Generous paid time off and additional paid holidays
Requirements
What We're Looking For (Position Requirements)
- 1–4 years in community relations, admissions, patient coordination or liaison work at a behavioral health, hospice, home health, rehab or similar provider
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills - you should be comfortable walking into a practice you've never visited and starting a conversation and comfortable and confident presenting to a clinical team at a staff meeting
- Experience planning or running events
- Comfort working from simple data: referral counts, dashboards and patient-volume reports
- Calm with variety: several offices, teams and priorities in the same week
- Steady habits with a CRM; Salesforce a plus
- A sales background is welcome but not required; bachelor's degree preferred
- Lives in or near the Cleveland area; valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, auto insurance and a clean driving record
What We Offer and The Support You'll Have
- A partner development playbook: meeting talk track, patient-insight reports, kiosk materials and a market landing page for patient intake, webinar registration and partner sign-up
- A monthly webinar series, promoted on TV, social media and email, that you can offer partners
- Practice playbooks, referral personas, email templates and marketing materials
- Salesforce lists and dashboards built for your practices
- A Sales Enablement team that researches and loads new partners for you
- A funded events budget
- Structured onboarding and training, with a weekly 1:1 with your manager
- Candidates must live within 2 hours of the Cleveland metroplex area and be willing to travel regularly within this region.
